New "Lounge At The Park" Is Satisfying Both Locals And Hotel Guests
Lounge at the Park is a hit with hotel guests and locals! The Lounge at The Park has emerged as an instant favorite among both hotel guests as well as locals. The new vibe includes a fantastic expanded menu of small plates and appetizers, a top ten list of new Park Classic cocktails, a luscious dessert selection, and a great offering of unique California wines by the glass. Locals have taken an immediate liking to the new atmosphere that showcases not only the culinary talents of Chef Raynaud but also the pleasure of casually elegant dining by the stone fireplace and overlooking the landscaped fountain courtyard. The Lounge at The Park is where the after work crowd is heading and where locals are finding specialty desserts, cocktails, and snacks until midnight each night. "The new vibe has overtaken the Lounge." said Frank Klein, director of food & Beverage. "The Lounge at The Park is the first step in many that are in store for the entire food & beverage operations. We are working on a new restaurant concept and with Chef Raynaud in place, I'm certain, that as we move forward, the success that we've seen in the Lounge will translate into the restaurant. The restaurant, lounge, and banquet rooms are fast becoming the in-spot at which to eat."

Call For Hotel Memories Reaps Funny, Sentimental Responses But Only One Winner
Karolyn Sewell from Menlo Park submitted this heart-warming story to win our grand prize of a Two-night stay in a suite, complete with breakfast for two and brunch for two (A $1,000 value). My Fondest Memory of the Stanford Park Hotel Some years ago, my husband forgot my birthday. Absolutely. Completely. He even phoned about 4 that afternoon asking me to clean up the house and whip up a nice dinner on short notice. He was bringing customers home for dinner. I worked quickly and prepared a lovely dinner. For dessert, I brought out his favorite Baskin-Robbins ice cream pie that said, "Happy Birthday Karolyn." The customers roared with laughter! He took it fairly well… To make up for this snafu, a few months later, for our anniversary, he invited me to the newly opened Stanford Park Hotel for dinner. I was blown away! Here was a died-in-the-wool steak-and-potatoes man, actually taking me to a restaurant which he was sure I would like, one that served my favorite California-style food, or, as he put it, "fru-fru food." He arranged for friends to take care of our children. We had a delicious, relaxed dinner. After dinner, he suggested that we wander through the new lounges and the hotel gardens to take a closer look at the new hotel. It was exquisite! While in the gardens, we came upon a door going back into the hotel. My husband suggested we go upstairs to continue our tour. As we were walking down one of the corridors, he said, "Look! They're using the new card locks on the doors. The key looks just like a credit card. I've heard that sometimes a normal credit card will open these locks." He pulled what looked like a credit card out of his pocket and started working it into the lock. I was aghast! I tried to pull him away. How unlike him to try to break into a hotel room! But, just then the door opened and he swooped me into the room. There, on the bed, I recognized my negligee and bathrobe, beautifully spread out. It was a total setup! What a romantic and memorable overnight we had complete with breakfast the next morning. When we picked up our children the next day, each of our friends (who knew all about my husband's plans and who had agreed to have our children spend the night with them) clearly wanted to make sure her husband heard of all the details of my husband's anniversary surprise hopeful that she, too, would someday be surprised by an overnight at the Stanford Park Hotel. How I would love to take my husband back to the Stanford Park Hotel to celebrate its 20 anniversary and to thank him for 32 wonderful years of marriage. Congratulations Ms. Sewell!
